Annie Lorene McLamb “Lorene,” 85 years young, of Chesapeake, Va. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. McLamb, a native of Lumberton, went to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer on Dec. 20, 2010.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hyde Park Baptist Church, Pastor Dennis Harrell will officiate. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at Hyde Park Baptist Church.
She was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Robeson County. She retired from Southeastern General Hospital after many years of service working in the labor and delivery unit, bringing many beautiful babies into this world.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jetter and Onnie Sealey; her son, Jimmy Dale McLamb; five brothers and sisters; and her two grandsons, Jimmy Christopher Boykin and Michael J. Boykin.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, son, Carey W. Sealey and his wife Faye, both of Evergreen; daughter, Betty F. Smith and her husband David, both of Chesapeake; son, Ricky McLamb and his wife Joan, both of Little River, S.C.; daughter, Sandra McKee and her husband Jack, both of Chesapeake; and son, Larry N. McLamb and his wife Renee, both of Lumberton. “Granny” also leaves behind 13 loving grandchildren; 32 beautiful great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St. in Lumberton.

The family said: We will truly miss this special Lady. We are confident in knowing that she, along with Jimmy, Mikey and Chris are together in Heaven smiling down on us.
