Carolyn M. Ray, 94, died April 14, 2006, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew's Church in Hillsborough.
Ray was born on Aug. 17, 1911, in Winston-Salem to the late Paul Lyndon Miller and Eva Farrow Miller. She was the widow of Gilbert W. Ray of Fayetteville.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Larry Blaine, both of Toronto, and Martha and Frank Averitt, both of Lumberton; a son, Ted Ray of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Vivian and Greg Thompson, Carolyn and Rob Reeves, and Amanda and Aaron Archibald, all of Toronto, and Murphy and Anna Averitt, both of Wilmington; and five great-grandchildren, Connor, Laura, Claire and Scott Thompson, and Christianna Council Averitt.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the home.
