Lumberton hosts summer tennis league

The Just Hit It Tennis League will run Tuesday through Thursday from June 20 to July 14, excluding the week of July 4, at the Lumberton High School tennis courts.

The league is for any school-aged students from rising sixth graders to rising seniors in Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland and Robeson counties. It has the opportunity to reach out to about 250 high school players through this summer league with the potential to grow.

Each team will practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with match play on Thursdays. Both singles and doubles matches.

The cost of the league is $50 and it includes: 12 hours of instruction; games and competition; six to nine hours of match play against other teams and a team shirt.

St. Pauls holds soccer camp

St. Pauls High School will host a soccer camp for boys and girls from June 20th – 24th at the high school.

Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. each day. The camp will be organized by boys and girls soccer coach Brent Martin with the assistance of several varsity players. Camp is open to all children from kindergarten to eighth grade in Robeson County, and players can register online at www.eliteacademyfc.org or on the first day of camp.

South Robeson announces date for sports physicals

ROWLAND — Student-athletes hoping to play sports at South Robeson High School this upcoming season will have the opportunity to get their state-required physicals on June 9.

The event will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
