To the Editor,
The inaugural Robeson Road Runners Night Tear on Elm Street One Mile Run, Walk, & Costume Spooktacular was held on Oct. 24 in downtown Lumberton. Everyone had a blast.
The evening was of simple design. Participants checked in at Third and Elm streets, then they walked or ran one fun half mile up Elm Street to around 12th Street and then back down to Third, and then we all went over to Candy Sue’s for delicious snacks and fellowship.
An event like this brings out the best in everyone in our community. Organizations, individuals, and groups pitched in to make the evening fun for folks of all ages. The Robeson Road Runners would like to thank the city of Lumberton and especially the Police Department for doing such a great job keeping all of our runners and walkers safe during their journey up and down Elm Street. We’d also like to thank all of our sponsors.
This is why we all love living in Lumberton; the community truly comes together so that everyone has a great time.
