Leach announces annual football camp
LUMBERTON — NFL free agent Vonta Leach announced Wednesday that he will be holding his ninth annual football and cheer camp on June 28 at Lumberton High School.
The free camp is open to boys and girls aged 6- to 16-years-old. The football camp will include one-on-one work with professional football players on skills such as blocking, passing and receiving. The cheer camp will be led by members of the Charlotte Bobcats cheer team.
Last year’s pros included Ravens stars Joe Flacco and Jacoby Jones, as well as local NFL players Sean Locklear and Hutch Eckerson.

Brill’s annual camp features NFL stars
LUMBERTON — Former Lumberton football coach Mike Brill will be holding his eighth annual football camp June 25, 26 and 27 at Lumberton High School for players ages 6- to 12-years-old.
The camp, which runs from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day includes instruction and autographs from NFL players Vonta Leach and Sean Locklear. There is a $75 fee which includes lunch following camp each day.

McNeill added to fundraising event
LUMBERTON —Vonta Leach announced that Lumberton native and East Carolina football coach Ruffin McNeill will be among the attendees at the second annual Vonta Leach Foundation Casino Night Fundraiser next month.
The event will be held June 27 at Mariani’s Restaurant in Pembroke, with proceeds going to the foundation, which the NFL free agent uses to give back to the community. Admission includes an open bar, h’or d’oeuvres, $1,000 in gaming chips and access to a silent auction.

Doeren headlines N.C. State visit
LUMBERTON — North Carolina State head football coach Dave Doeren will return to Lumberton later this month as part of the Wolfpack Club Coaches Caravan.
The event is at 6 p.m. May 19 at the Southeastern Agricultural Center. Admission is $25 for adults and free for anyone under 17.
Doeren, who also headlined last year’s visit, will be joined in the annual Robeson County stop by assistant mens basketball coach Bobby Lutz, womens basketball coach Wes Moore and N.C. State mascots. Dinner is included with admission and there will be items auctioned off.
