Junior golfers around the county will have the chance to learn from Fairmont’s best later this summer. Fairmont Golf Club will be holding a three-day junior clinic on July 21, 22 and 23 for players ages 7 to 18.
Players ages 7 to 12 will play from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with the older golfers going from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There is a $20 fee per golfer, which includes a t-shirt and prizes. For information and registration call 910-628-9931.

Warner Hall and David Lowry edged out Richard Lowery and J.T. Powers in the championship flight of Tuesday’s senior shootout.
J.D Revels and Hoyt Pierce took first place in the first flight, beating E.J Locklear and Garner Revels. Bobby Benton and Marshall McDonald won the second flight, with Jimmy Waddell and Johnny Bass taking second.
Special event winners were Elvin Meares, David Lowry, Wayne Hardwick, Marshall McDonald and James Smith.
The next senior shootout will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m.
The Robeson County Golf Championships sponsored by Dial Insurance will be held July 18, 19 and 20 at Pinecrest Country Club and this year’s tournament will include new division.
Players 65 and older will comprise the oft-requested super senior division, which will play from the gold tees alongside the juniors on Friday and Saturday. The senior division will be for players 55 and older and be played on Saturday and Sunday, as will the ladies and regular division. Each division will be flighted after the first day.
The championship division will play all three days and will be flighted after the second day. The championship is open to all amateurs over the age of 16. There is a $90 registration fee for the championship division and junior entry is $25. All other divisions have a $60 registration fee. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight and fees include food and beverages on the course.

The Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton will be raising money for local children later this summer when the 37th-annual Kiwanis All-American Golf Tournament is held Aug. 16 and 17.
All proceeds will directly to agencies providing support, guidance and protection to children around the county. Past funds have been used to provide clothes and shoes to students in need, help pay for counseling of children who suffered the death of a family member, paid for books for second graders and used to provide Christmas gifts and scholarships to area youth. Money has also been donated to numerous organizations that help local youth.
Played as two-man best ball, the tournament is open to all golfing amateurs ages 21 and older. There is a $200 entry fee, which include breakfast and lunch each day, as well as greens and cart fees, range balls and other gifts. The field is limited to 90 teams and registration is due Aug. 13. Sponsorships start at $100 and any sponsorship of $500 or more includes a team entry.

Cliffwood’s weekly senior shootout is now being played at 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday. There is a $20 entry fee, which includes door prizes, a continental breakfast and lunch, and any tournament with 35 or more players will have a guaranteed first place prize of $50.
The Foundation of Robeson County Community College will be holding its 30th annual Clifford Bullard Memorial Golf Tournament on Sept. 18 at Cliffwood Golf Course.
The tournament supports the world of the RCC Foundation in its mission to provide financial support for the school’s students, activities and programs, especially as the need for scholarship assistance rises.
The tournament raised more than $22,000 and the foundation expects a record-breaking event. Registration information will be announced at a later time.
