Stephens-Hensley

Heather Marie Stephens, of Greensboro, and Daniel Peter Hensley, also of Greensboro, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on June 4 at Gate City Baptist Church in Greensboro. The Rev. Michael Owens officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kermit Stephens Jr., of Lumberton. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty C. Halliburton and the late Rev. James C. Halliburton, and Mrs. Peggy Ruth Britt and the late William Ray Britt and and the late Elmer Kermit Stephens Sr.

She is a graduate of Fairmont High School in Fairmont and North Carolina State University, with a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. She works as a senior purchasing agent with BB&T in Winston-Salem.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kenneth Hensley, of Greensboro. He is the grandson of Mrs. Peggy C. Jefferson and the late Eldon K. Jefferson, and the late Clyde D. Hensley and the late Geneva W. Hensley.

He is a graduate of Southwest Guilford High School in High Point and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a B.A. in Peace, War and Defense.

He works as a campus minister with CRU, formally known as Campus Crusade for Christ.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Michelle R. Todd. The bridesmaids were Mrs. LauraLee Parker, Mrs. Catherine Burke, Mrs. Lisa Stephens and Miss Hannah Dickey.

The best man was Rev. Michael Horton. The groomsmen were Mr. Jake Warner, Mr. Bill Burke, Mr. Matthew Stephens and Mr. Turner Krebs.

The flower girl was Miss Catherine Owens. The ringer bearer was Mr. Phillip Owens.

Music was provided by mandolinist Mr. Matthew Medlin, trumpeter Mr. Tracy Beach, pianist Mrs. Karen Peters and soloist Mrs. Jessica Davis. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Mary T. Bailey.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Gate City Baptist Church, with dinner provided by Country BBQ, of High Point. The reception was held at The Oak Branch Conference and Event Center in Greensboro hosted by the bride’s parents.

A bridal shower was held at Mt. Elim Baptist Church in Orrum, hosted by Mrs. Rene Britt, Mrs. Diane Hedgpeth, Mrs. Laura Graham and Mrs. Starla Stephens. A bridal luncheon was held as the home of Mrs. Bennie Breece in Winston-Salem, hosted by Mrs. Beenie Breece and Mrs. Vicki Reeves. A bridal shower was held at Gate City Baptist Church in Greensboro, hosted Mrs. Michelle Todd and the GCBC Women’s Ministry. A bridal luncheon was held at Adelio’s Restaurant in Lumberton, hosted by Mrs. Cindy Kern.

The couple spent their honeymoon in the Shenandoah Valley around Lexington, Va.
