‘After the Flood:’ A fundraiser for families displaced by flooding will be held at the Carolina Civic Center from 7 to 9 p.m. and will feature Charly Lowry, Jason Bullock, Jef the Mime, Steve Langley’s Soap Bubble Circus, Sheila Kerrigan — the mime who talks, Omimeo, and Professor Whizpop’s Zany Magic. Clean-up: Honoring Our People Everyday, Inc. and partners will hold a Unity in the Community: South Lumberton Clean-Up beginning at 8 a.m. Volunteers are asked to meet beside the railroad tracks in South Lumberton and locate the balloons to find the registration table. Empty Bowl: Lumberton Christian Care Center, located at 220 E. Second St., Lumberton, is hosting its first Empty Bowl fundraiser from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the center. The menu is soup, crackers and desserts provided by local restaurants, including Pier 41; Candy Sue’s Cafe; Cakes and Pastries; and the center’s very own Mr. Leroy. Tickets are $15, which includes a soup in a pottery bowl to keep, and dessert. Tickets are $10 for soup and dessert but no bowl. Tickets for children ages 3 to 8 are available for $8. The Doo Wop Project: The concert that had to be postponed in October has been rescheduled at the Carolina Civic Center, located at 315 N. Chestnut St., Lumberton. Tickets range from $10 to $25 and can be purchased at any time online through the theater’s web site at www.carolinaciviccenter.com or in person at the theater’s office, or by calling 910-738-4339 from noon until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. All all previously-purchased tickets will be honored for the show with same seating.

Chili cook-off: Registration is under way for participants in the annual Bud Light North of the Border Chili Cook-Off. For the Blind: Sunshine Seekers is a support group that meets at 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Pine Street Senior Center. Participants must be legally blind. For the Deaf and Hearing Impaired: A support group for the deaf and hard of hearing is held every third Saturday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. at Pine Street Senior Center.
