The Lumberton High School greenhouse plant sale starts Monday and runs until Mother’s Day or while supplies last. It is held in the greenhouse behind the high school. Plants for sale include tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet peppers, hot peppers, thyme, basil, squash, and flowers, including celosia, coleus, coneflower, dahlia, daisy, hibiscus, lobelia, marigolds, petunias and zinias. Flats are $12 or $2 per four-pack; plants in pots range from $3 to $14. The greenhouse is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Easter egg hunt: Jones Lake State Park, located at 4117 NC 242 North, in Elizabethtown, will have its annual Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., sponsored by Friends of the Bay Lakes. There will be games, concessions, crafts, prizes and special events. The event is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required. Alumni meet: The Redstone-Hayswood Alumni Association, Inc. will meet at 10 a.m. at the Golden Corral in Lumberton. Former students of both schools are invited to attend. For information call 910-738-3417.

Day of Service: The United Way of Robeson County day of service will be held at Lumberton, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. While this is an all day event, volunteers will not be required to participate the entire day. April 21-22

Fairmont’s Heritage Days will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on April 21 and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 22. There will be food, entertainment, cafts, an Amish quilt raffle, pony rides, and a petting zoo. It will be located at the Fairmont Heritage Museum.

April 22

Scholarship run: A 5K fun run and 1-mile walk will be held beginning at Southeastern Lifestyle Center parking lot, located at 301 Mount Tabor Road in Red Springs. The Scholastic Day Challenge is being held by Peterkin Law Firm to raise money for college scholarships for Robeson County students. Family reunion: The Oxendine Family Reunion will be held beginning at 1 p.m. at Bear Swamp Baptist Church on St. Anne Road. For the Blind: Sunshine Seekers is a support group that meets at 10 a.m. on Thursdays at the Pine Street Senior Center. Participants must be legally blind.
