on breastfeeding to meet
LUMBERTON — Southeastern Health’s Maternal and Child Health Services division will hold their monthly meeting for breastfeeding mothers and family members on Monday.
The support group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. and the class will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Both groups will meet in Community Classroom II off of the main lobby at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Walmart in Pembroke to
host a free wellness event
PEMBROKE — The Walmart in Pembroke will offer free health services to anyone who walks into the store on Monday.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Walmart, as well as Southeastern Health Services and Homegrown Health, will offer free immunizations, healthy food samples, health awareness information, healthy eating and sun safety tips, tours of the Wellness of Wheels bus and blood pressure and diabetes screenings.

Hospice house to train new
volunteers for Southeastern
LUMBERTON — Southeastern Hospice will host a training course for new volunteers interested in assisting hospice patients and their families in homes or at Southeastern Hospice House.
Those interested will be required to attend all sessions, which will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday from Sept. 10 to Sept. 24. Volunteers must consent to a background check and tuberculosis test, both free of charge.
