LUMBERTON — Jason Cox was recently named vice president and chief operating officer of Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Cox’s areas of focus will include nursing and patient care, emergency physicians, behavioral health, surgical services, anesthesia services, food services, laboratory, medical imaging and pharmacy.

“I am pleased to have Jason as a member of the leadership team for Southeastern Health,” said JoAnn Anderson, president and CEO of Southeastern Health. “He brings a lot of experience and energy to the role. I look forward to working with him.”

Cox earned a master’s degree in public administration from Bowie State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has served in management roles in health care for 14 years and spent several years in the U.S. military. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in process improvement techniques by The George Group, a consulting firm.

Relocating from Dawsonville, Ga., Cox served as CEO of Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dehlonega, Ga. He and his wife, Kelli, have three children and plan to reside in Lumberton.
