LUMBERTON — Southeastern Health’s Community Health Education Center, located next to Shoe Show at Biggs Park Mall, is hosting the following programs, which include lunch. For information, call 910-671-9393.

— Dr. Mike Popovic, a urologist with Southeastern/Lumberton Urology Clinic, will present a program about prostate cancer on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

— Nutritionist Cameron Karrenbauer will offer recipes, demonstrate how to make smoothies and present a program on how to read food labels Friday at 8:45 a.m.

Oct. 7 event on

breast cancer

LUMBERTON — Southeastern Health will host a breast cancer awareness Hope, Faith, Courage event on Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Biggs Park Mall.

The event will feature breast cancer awareness booths, entertainment, light refreshments, and free breast exams by a mid-level provider on the Wellness on Wheels mobile. If the breast exam indicates that a mammogram is needed, immediate referrals with shuttle service will be made to Southeastern Radiology Associates. Navigators will be on hand to file insurance or to determine alternate methods of payment.

Free dental work

in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — North Carolina Missions of Mercy will hold a free dental clinic in Fayetteville for low-income adults with no dental insurance.

The following services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis: extractions; fillings; teeth cleaning; partial denture construction for front teeth only; and full denture repair.

The clinic will be held Oct. 28 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Oct. 29 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crown Arena at 1960 Coliseum Drive.
