Pembroke clinic has

new, extended hours

PEMBROKE — Southeastern Urgent Care Pembroke, at 812 Candy Park Road, has begun offering extended hours.

The new hours are Mondays through Thursdays: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays through Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed on Sundays.

Mall hosting cancer

awareness event Friday

LUMBERTON — Southeastern Health will host a breast cancer awareness Hope, Faith, Courage event on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Biggs Park Mall.

The event will feature breast cancer awareness booths, entertainment, light refreshments, and free breast exams by a mid-level provider on the Wellness on Wheels mobile. If the breast exam indicates that a mammogram is needed, immediate referrals with shuttle service will be made to Southeastern Radiology Associates. Navigators will be on hand to file insurance or to determine alternate methods of payment.

Fall Bazaar raising

money for Gibson

LUMBERTON — Gibson Cancer Center will host a Fall Bazaar to raise money for its navigation fund for patients in need. The event will be held Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gibson, which is located at 1200 Pine Run Drive in Lumberton.

Items for sale include seasonal wreaths, soaps, jewelry, locally-produced preserves and decorative jars as well as hot dogs and snacks. For information about the event or to donate items to sell, call 910-671-5716 or 910-671-5782.

Sixth Boots & BBQ

scheduled for Oct. 14

LUMBERTON — The Southeastern Health Foundation Advocates will host its sixth annual Boots & BBQ fundraiser on Oct. 14 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Southeastern Agricultural Center Arena in Lumberton. Money raised will be used to purchase an isolette for the neonatal intensive care unit at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
