LUMBERTON — Dr. Natasha Acosta Diaz, a pediatric neurologist, has joined Southeastern Neurological Center, an affiliate of Southeastern Health.
Acosta Diaz earned her medical degree from Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 2006. She completed a general pediatrics residency at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in New York in 2012. She also completed a fellowship in child neurology at State University of New York’s Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 2015, as well as a clinical neurophysiology fellowship in New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in 2016. She is board-certified in neurology with special qualification in child neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
She has special interests in general child neurology as well as intractable/refractory epilepsy and epilepsy surgery.
“Soon after my interview at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, I knew this was the hospital I would end up joining,” she said. “In being the first full-time pediatric neurologist to join the hospital, I saw the opportunity of really making a difference by diagnosing and treating neurological diseases in the most needed and vulnerable population of our community — children.”
She and her husband, Dr. Roberto Arias Gautreaux, a general surgeon who will soon join Southeastern Health, have two daughters and live in Fayetteville.
Southeastern Neurological Center is located at Southeastern Health Park, 4901 Dawn Drive, Suite 3100 in Lumberton. To schedule an appointment, call 910-671-9298.
