ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Advance Auto Parts Inc. is cutting 100 corporate jobs in Virginia and North Carolina.

Advance Auto spokeswoman Laurie Stacy tells media outlets that 50 jobs will be eliminated in Roanoke and 50 jobs will be cut in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the end of August.

Stacy said Monday that the cuts will eliminate duplication. Some duplicate functions were created when Advance Auto purchased General Parts International in 2014.

Stacy says some projects also will be cut.
