Slow-moving Danny no threat now

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Danny is moving slowly across the Atlantic and forecasters say it could still become a hurricane.

Danny’s maximum sustained winds early today remain near 50 mph (85 kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center says some strengthening is still possible and Danny could become a hurricane on Friday.

The storm is centered about 1,200 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and is moving west near 10 mph.

The storm does not currently pose a threat to any land.
