LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Board of Commissioners on Monday will consider applications for conditional-use permits that would allow for the establishment of a solar farm and two-used car dealerships.

Thigpen Owner LLC is requesting a permit so a solar farm can be established on 50 acres of a 60-acre tract in Maxton. The solar farm would be developed by FLS Energy Inc. and be located in a Residential Agricultural district.

The used-car dealerships, if the conditional use permits are approved, would be located in Burnt Swamp and Union townships. Brittany E. Locklear plans to put a car dealership, with a modular office, on a 1.65-acre tract in Burnt Swamp. The car dealership in Union would be established on a .86-acre tract. Both dealerships would be located in Residential Agricultural districts.

The commissioners will also hear a request from Ronnie Martin Davis that a 2.39-acre tract in Raft Swamp be rezoned from Heavy Industrial to Residential Agricultural.

The commissioners on Monday will also:

— Hear a presentation from the Women of Faith and Hope, an organization that assists females in the southern part of Robeson County. In a letter to Commissioner Berlester Campbell, the organization is asking for financial support for its programs.

— Consider a resolution supporting the creation of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. The natural gas pipeline is being proposed by Dominion Resources, Duke Energy and other partners. It would begin in Harrison County, West Virginia, and run through Virginia and North Carolina to Robeson County. Proponents said that Robeson County would benefit from property taxes paid on infrastructure located in the county.

— Consider appointments to the county’s Parks & Recreation Board. Appointments to be considered include: Terry Jackson, District 1; Larece Hunt, District 3; and Kelly Chavis, District 6.

— Convene as the Robeson County Housing Authority Board.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the commissioners room of the county administration building on North Elm Street.
