FAIRMONT — A search was to resume this morning for a person who is believed to have drowned Tuesday in a pond near Fairmont.

The Robesonian this morning was unable to get information from the responding unit, Lumberton Rescue and Emergency Medical Services, but learned that an unidentified person who was doing construction on a pier at a pond off of Leggett Road had disappeared under water.

A search of the 15-acre pond was to resume this morning at 9 with the help of canines from the Fayetteville Police Department.
