FAIRMONT — Rain may have been a factor in a wreck that killed a Fairmont man last week, according to 1st Sgt. Jeremy Brewington with the N.C. Highway Patrol.

Louis Richard Oxendine, 52, was traveling west on N.C. 904 in a Honda passenger car about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle crossed the center line, according to a report filed by Trooper Donald Tubbs. Oxendine’s vehicle was struck by a Lexus SUV driven by Glenn Alspaugh, 67, of Yadkinville.

Alspaugh and an unidentified passenger in his car suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The accident occurred near Fair Bluff Road.
