LUMBERTON — A teenager has been charged with murder and attempted murder after shots were fired during an altercation on Sunday on the 2900 block of Freedom Drive, according to a statement from the Lumberton Police Department.

Marlon Wade, 40, was shot and killed and Jaquan Bethea, 17, was injured in the shooting that occurred during an argument, according to the statement. Bethea was taken to an undisclosed hospital and his condition was not available.

Alkwuan Moore, also 17, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder and is being held at the Robeson County jail without bond.

The 911 call was made at 8:18 p.m.

The statement said Wade and Moore both are from Robeson County and that Bethea is a city resident. Specific addresses were not provided. It did not provide any information concerning what the dispute was about.
