LUMBERTON — The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a man who recently robbed a store clerk at gunpoint.

Maj. Anthony Thompson, chief of detectives for the Sheriff’s Office, said the robbery at Minute Man at 9793 N.C. 41 North near Tar Heel Road was reported at about 3:15 p.m. on July 16.

According to Thompson, a black man with long dreadlocks and a slim build entered the store, picked up a pack of gum, and took it to the counter. When the store clerk opened the cash register, the man took out a gun and a bag and demanded money. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a black, four-door Toyota Camry before driving toward Bladenboro on N.C. 41.

No other information about the man or the vehicle was available.

Thompson said there was at least one customer in the store at the time, but no one was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 910-671-3100. Callers do not have to give their name.
