RED SPRINGS — The town of Red Springs will observe National Night Out on Saturday.

National Night Out, an event that aims to bring together police officers and residents, was held across the country on Aug. 2, but a rainy forecast forced Red Springs to delay its festivities.

The event will be held from 1 to 4 pm. at Tom Cope Park.

“We are looking for everyone to come out and enjoy some fellowship and get to know the officers and some of the town commissioners,” said Red Springs Commissioner Duron Burney, who also works with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Burney said Saturday’s festivities will include “lots of food and fun,” as well as inflatables, water slides and representatives from the Red Springs police, fire and EMS departments and the Sheriff’s Office.
