GREENSBORO (AP) — Two people have been arrested and charged with an assault of a Greensboro police officer.

Greensboro police told local media outlets that 36-year-old Chalon Marshawn Little and 21-year-old Pamela Nicole Stamper were arrested in Taylorsville on Tuesday. Police said neither of them have permanent addresses.

Officers were called to a report of shoplifting Monday afternoon. Police said as a detective tried to arrest Little, he assaulted the officer. Police said Stamper then backed her car into the officer. The detective was not seriously injured.

Little and Stamper are being charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and hit and run. They also face theft-related charges.

It was not clear if they have attorneys.
