GOP opening could include a Trump

LUMBERTON — Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, may make a quick appearance in Lumberton on Friday.

She is tentatively scheduled to cut the ribbon at the Robeson County Republican Party headquarters at 1903 N. Pine St. at 12:15 p.m., according to Phillip Stephens, chairman of the local party.

The event will open the local party headquarters for the election season.

A Wilmington native, Lara Trump graduated from North Carolina State University in 2005 and married Eric Trump in 2014. She is a producer for “CBS Inside Edition” and is on the campaign trail for her father-in-law.
