MAXTON — A Maxton man was struck by a train and killed Friday afternoon, according to Police Chief Tammy Deese.

Frankie Braddy, 55, of Croom Road, was walking north across railroad tracks between the intersection of McNair and Florence streets when he was struck by a CSX train at about noon, Deese said. The train was traveling east.

Deese said no foul play is suspected in Braddy’s death, which is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Sherman McQueen at 910-844-5667.
