LUMBERTON — In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, the city of Lumberton has declared a mandatory curfew until 10 a.m. on Monday. Local officials have been telling people to stay off the roads because many are dangerous, and utility companies that are bringing in crews to get power restored also need clear room to move.

The city is also encouraging residents to conserve water, but consumers of city water do not need to boil the water. There is a danger of a shortage.
