FAIRMONT — The town of Fairmont will hold a public meeting Tuesday on Hurricane Matthew and its local effects.

The meeting will be held in lieu of the Board of Commissioners’ regular monthly meeting. It begins at 6 p.m. at the South Robeson Heritage Center.

Information will be available on the impacts of the storm, which has caused widespread flooding, road closures and power outages throughout Robeson County, and residents will be able to ask questions and share their concerns. Rainfall from the storm has inundated the town’s sewer system, causing several sewer breaches, and washed out roads and bridges.

The Heritage Center is located at 207 S. Main St. in Fairmont.
