LUMBERTON — School is closed through Wednesday for students and staff of the Public Schools of Robeson County with the exception of principals, assistant principals and custodians.

School has been out for the two weeks since Hurricane Matthew. Power has been restored at all PSRC schools and air quality tests and cleanup are being conducted at each school.

All bus drivers were sent to survey their routes Friday and Saturday. There are still more than 130 roads closed in Robeson because of the storm.

“Ultimately a decision about school will be based upon when roads are cleared as safe and reroutes are completed,” the school system said in an announcement about the closure.

The October Parent Night and the Very special Arts Festival are both canceled.
