FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Clinton man charged in the shooting death of a Virginia man in 2014.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that 26-year-old Isaiah Quan Smith has been charged by Duplin County sheriff’s deputies with first-degree murder in the shooting death of McKinley Beaty Jr.

Cumberland deputies arrested Smith on Friday but did not release other details.

WCTI-TV reported that Beaty was 21 and was from Norfolk, Virginia. He was found shot to death Feb. 13, 2014, at a restaurant near Warsaw.

Deputies have not released a motive in the shooting. It was not known if Smith has an attorney.
