FAIRMONT — Holiday revelers will find plenty of reasons to celebrate on Friday as the Fairmont parade is next in line.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a tree-lighting ceremony in Community Park followed by Fairmont’s Twilight Christmas Parade.

Entertainment will be held at the Fairmont Heritage Center at 7:30 p.m. including holiday greetings by Charles Kemp, emcee; an introduction of the Farmers Festival queens, a black light performance by the First Baptist Church drama squad, music from the Rosenwald Elementary School Chorus, the Long Branch Elementary School Chorus, and solos by Sarah Davis, Deidre Callahan, Jessica Leonard.

There will be Christmas crafts for sale.

The Pembroke parade is at 4:30 p.m. today and other upcoming parades include Marietta at 11 a.m. on Saturday, St. Pauls at 3 p.m on. Saturday, Lake View, S.C. on Saturday at 3 p.m., and Red Springs on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m.
