LUMBERTON — Those who are able to give are being asked to donate to families in need when the Public Schools of Robeson County Parent-Student Center holds its Caring and Sharing event on Friday.

According to Amy Haigler, the center’s director, the event will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Robeson Community College’s Student Union.

Food, clothes, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies and toys have been collected, but more is needed. For information on how to donate, call Haigler 910-735-2190.

The event targets students and their families who have lost belongings to Hurricane Matthew, but it is open to the general public as well.

“It is a day for our community to come together if they have not been able to get clothes, food products, gifts for their children, basic household goods — this is a day where we’ll be giving and sharing those types of items,” Haigler said.
