SRMC work to close street section until 2018

LUMBERTON — A construction project at Southeastern Regional Medical Center to relocate and upgrade the hospital’s operating room suite will require the closure of a limited section of West 27th Street starting Monday and continuing through early 2018.

If access to any business is obstructed, it is recommended to approach the facility from the opposite direction.

“We realize that closure to this section of the street for any length of time will cause an inconvenience for our neighbors and their visitors and patients and we greatly appreciate their cooperation and understanding during this time,” said David Sumner, vice president of Corporate Services and chief strategy officer for Southeastern Health.

The Lumberton City Council recently approved the closure of the road to allow for the work.
