PEMBROKE — The Cruisin’ Pembroke Street Festival returns Saturday to Main Street here with food, fun and music.
Activities start and 11 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m. A featured event will be the Soup Cook-off from noon to 2 p.m. This year there wil will also have a Jr. Chef Competition, which is for ages 13 to 18 who will judged by submission of recipe and pictures of the final presentation.
Live music will be provided by the band Open Road from 3:30 to 5 p.m. There will be free activities for children, and food and craft vendors.
The festival is sponsored by the Pembroke Area Chamber of Commerce, the town of Pembroke, Lumbee Regional Development Association, The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. For information, call 910-775-4334 or 910-536-7816.
