PEMBROKE — A benefit ride for Isaac Jacobs, who is battling adrenoleukodystrophy, will be held Sunday at the CP, located at 707 Union Chapel Road.

The price is $10 per rider and $15 for couples. There will be a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Registration will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with kick stands up at 2:30. The ride will go to the old fire station in Rennert, across the street from the Rennert park.

For information on the ride, call Spencer Locklear at 910-308-1443.

Jacobs was diagnosed with ALD at age 13 and requires 24-hour care.

A Facebook post from his mother, Amy Michelle Oxendine Jacobs, said that Issac is now completely bedridden, is blind and cannot speak.

“It breaks my heart to see my child go from an active child to completly helpless,” Jacobs said. “I would rather have my baby back instead of all the money in the world.”
