LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County recently named four winners of the 2015 Drug Prevention Art Contest.

The theme for this year’s contest was “Be a Super Hero … Have the Power to Say No to Drugs.” The contest is an effort to educate students and the community about the growing drug epidemic in the country, state and nation.

Alexis Gonzalez, a first-grade student at Peterson Elementary School, won the Elementary I Division; Jaden Jones, a third- grade student at Union Elementary School, won the Elementary II Division; Perla Valencia, a sixth-grade student at Red Springs Middle School, won the Junior Division; and Akili Grafton, a senior at Lumberton High School, won the Senior division.

The Winners each received a $50 cash prize sponsored by the Gertrude Locklear Endowment Fund. Visit Robesonian.com to view the winners’ art.
