To the Editor,
On Oct. 17, the Robeson County Humane Society held the inaugural Bark at the Moon fall fundraiser. This was a new approach to meeting our fund-raising goals and was wildly successful.
RCHS is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a community where all animals are healthy, valued, and loved. It is clear that the past years have been tough economically, particularly in our own region. However, that has not stopped businesses and individuals from supporting our mission financially, and with their time.
I have seen a different Robeson County than has been profiled negatively in recent significantly flawed national “studies.” Our staff, our board of directors, and I have seen a caring and generous Robeson County engaged in improving the lives of our animals. RCHS will continue to work hard to save lives, find homes, and educate others. We welcome volunteers and support in this endeavor. Stop by the facility or find us on the web through our Facebook or website.
Another way to help is to support and thank the businesses and individuals who sponsor our events like Bark at the Moon. You can find a complete list of these sponsors at our Facebook page at Robeson County Humane Society. We thank them sincerely and couldn’t do it with out them.
