LAURINBURG — Carol Ann Lentz has been named the new Disaster Services program manager for the organization’s Scotland and Moore chapters. The Scotland County Chapter includes the Robeson County branch of the Red Cross.
Lentz will oversee the Red Cross’s response and recovery efforts in the wake of natural disasters such as tornadoes, fires and hurricanes. She will also lead a olunteer base that she would like to see grow.
“We need volunteers in all aspects of emergency response,” she said. “We know people want to lend a hand and we’ll be training those people.”
Lentz has served seven years as executive director of the Scotland County chapter’s Supporting Services Division, which provides services to Robeson County. One of its missions is to help fire victims with temporary lodging and clothing.
Lentz’s replacement, Cynthia Bradley, will act as executive director for both the Scotland and Moore County chapters of the Red Cross.
The changes in leadership are part of a regional overhaul.
“Carol Ann and I have worked together for more than a year and have collaborated on many projects and campaigns,” Bradley said in a statement from the Red Cross. “I look forward to our working shoulder to shoulder to ensure that people of the four counties we serve receive the highest quality Red Cross services possible.”
