Hummer stolen from city Police Department

LUMBERTON — A black Hummer SUV that had been seized as evidence by Lumberton police has been stolen from the department, according to a police report.

According to the report, officers discovered the vehicle missing from the department’s lot on Godwin Avenue during a routine check at about 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 24. The gate to the lot had also been torn down, the report said.

The 2003 Hummer H2 had been seized from Bjorn Cooper, of Duffie Road in Red Springs, and is valued at $7,500, the report said.
