LUMBERTON — For the second day in a row, students with the Public Schools of Robeson County will enjoy an extra two hours at home before heading to school.
The school system will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, as it did on today, because of a cold front bringing single-digit wind-chill temperatures to the state.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the teens Wednesday morning, topping out around 40 degrees in the afternoon. Wind speeds should stay below 10 mph, providing some respite from gusts that made temperatures feel as cold as 2 degrees on Tuesday. A warming trend should begin Thursday.
The delay includes Shining Stars Preschool. No breakfast will be served because of the delay.
School staff, with the exception of administrative staff and essential school personnel, will also operate on a delayed schedule.
