LUMBERTON — Lumberton’s annual fireworks show, which had been scheduled for July 3 to celebrate the nation’s birthday, will be held on Saturday at Brooks Stadium at Lumberton High Schoos.
Gates open at 6 p.m. for the free end-of-summer event. From 7 to 9 p.m. there will bubble wands, inflatables, face-painting and games like corn hole.
At 7:30 p.m., Ethan Hanson, a Fayetteville-based rock and blues guitarist, will perform. The All Veteran Parachute Jump Team will also provide a parachute demonstration. Members of the Raeford-based organization parachute and skydive as a form of entertainment, as well as to raise awareness of veterans-related issues.
The fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.
The event is presented by the Lumberton Community Relations Committee.
