LUMBERTON — The public is invited to join the Lumberton Police Department in celebrating National Night Out on Aug. 5.
The anti-crime event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the downtown plaza and will include kids activities, music by DJ Bobby Bodiford, food and door prizes.
Held throughout the county, National Night Out promotes crime prevention and safety. The public is also asked to turn on porch lights that night to show solidarity in the stand against violence and crime.
The event is free and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs.
