National Public Lands Day: The Lumber River State Park will host a volunteer work project from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chalk Banks Access Area. Volunteers will walk down a historic road, which General Sherman used during the American Civil War, and pick up trash/debris in order to help preserve the natural beauty of the area. Pageant: The Carolina Youth Action Association will hold a pageant at 3 p.m. at the Southside Alumni Building on Martin Luther King Street in Rowland.
