LUMBERTON — Nominations are being accepted for the 2014 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the program, which showcases North Carolina’s most dedicated volunteers.
Each county may select up to 10 individuals, businesses, and groups/teams, and one volunteer director to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. A local committee evaluates the nominations and selects one of the recipients for the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service.
Robeson County nomination forms are available from Beth Ivey, volunteer supervisor for Southeastern Health, and must be submitted no later than Nov. 27. Call Ivey at 910-671-5093 for more information.
