Theater show: “City Mouse, Country Mouse” will be presented by the Birmingham Children’s Theater Company at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater. Scholarship pageant: The Fairmont Farmers Festival Scholarship Pageant will be held at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Fairgrove Middle School. Participants must live within a 12-mile radius of Fairmont and be between the ages of 2 and 19 years old. “Bullying” screening: Fairmont High School Youth Council and Robeson County Teen Court will hold a screening of the documentary “Bully” by Lee Hirsch at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 15. The screening, which will be shown at the Fairmont-South Robeson Heritage Center, is open to youths 12 years old and above, parents, child advocates, educators and other interested community members. Admission is free. Immediately following the film, a discussion will be held focusing on the dynamics of bullying and actions that can be taken to prevent violence of this nature in the school environment. Alzheimer’s walk: Alzheimer’s North Carolina will hold a Robeson County Alzheimer’s Walk for Memory at Luther Britt Park from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Nightmare on Elm Street: The Robeson Road Runners will host a one mile run, walk, and costume contest at 7 p.m. The start and finish of the event will be between Third and Fourth streets in Lumberton. The course will pass by iconic Halloween creatures and Freddie himself. After the race all participants are invited back to Candy Sue’s for refreshments and costume contest.
