LUMBERTON — In addition to film and live performances, the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater displays artwork by regional artists as part of its cultural offerings.
“Meanderings in Color: Works by Karena Kimble-Locklear” is a solo exhibit by Lumberton artist Karena Kimble-Locklear, which will be displayed beginning Thursday through January. A free reception will be hald at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and light refreshments will be served. Works will be available for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Civic Center’s educational programming.
This multi media show explores the world of nature with a variety of perspectives, from touches of Realism to Abstraction. The artist Karena Kimble- Locklear enjoys creating small and large works that explore the possibilities of color, line and light. Through traveling and living in the parts of the West and Southeast the artist has enriched her subject matter with diverse images such as immense skies, cranes and sliding turtles.
