Sandy Grove Baptist Church, located at 1600 Fairmont Road in Lumberton, will host the Grand United Order of Salem Hope of Fairmont chapter No. 170’s annual Thanksgiving on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Shedrick Byrd will preach and Spring Branch Baptist Choir will render the music for the service.

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church on Leggett Road in Fairmont, will observe Pastor Judy McMillian’s 19th anniversary from Monday to Wednesday at 7:30 each night. There will be a banquet in her honor on July 23 at 5 p.m. The celebration will end July 24 at 4 p.m.

Victory Baptist Church in Whiteville will have its vacation bible school from Sunday July 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 nightly. The theme is Ocean Commotion — Diving into Noah’s Flood. Lighthouse Ministries food pantry, located at 8878 N.C. 72 E. in Lumberton, serves the communities of Long Branch, Sand Hill, Broadridge, Mt. Elm, Smyrna, Proctorville, Orrum, Barnesville, Fairmont and Marietta. The pantry opens every second Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Lighthouse Ministries will distribute TEFAP government commodities between 10 a.m. and noon on the third Saturday of each month for all of Robeson County.
