To the Editor,

In celebration of our cultural richness and those whom make up our diversity here in Robeson County and the state of North Carolina, we are asking you and your readers join us in celebration of Black History Month this February.

February, traditionally proclaimed by each governor as Black History month, has once again been officially designated as such by Gov. Pat McCrory in a proclamation.

McCrory signed the proclamation designating February 2016 as Black History month in North Carolina during a ceremony which was held at North Carolina Central University on Feb. 2.

The ethos presented in the proclamation brings attention to the many contributions made by African Americans across the state of North Carolina.

Join Gov. McCrory, The N.C. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission with the collaboration of The N.C. Human Relations Commission in recognition of the month of February as Black History Month in Robeson County and thestate of North Carolina.
