LUMBERTON — Three men have been arrested and charged with murder in a shooting that killed a Cumberland County teenager and injured a local teen.
Reginald Jaleel Holloman, 20, of Sinclair Street in Lumberton; Justin Anthony Stephens, 18, of Gillis Street in Fayetteville; and Joshua Montraze Stephens, 19, of Volunteer Drive, Fayetteville, have each been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault with attempt to kill and felony conspiracy in the shooting that killed 18-year-old Lamont Rahem Lyles, of Fayetteville, and wounded 19-year-old Dashawn Lamar Taylor, of Orrum.
The five men had traveled in a vehicle together from Fayetteville to Robeson County when the shooting occurred at 9:27 p.m. on Thursday at 892 Rice Road in Lumberton, according to Robeson County sheriff’s Capt. Anthony Thompson. No motive is known, Thompson said.
Thompson said the department is waiting on a ballistics report.
“There are still other persons of interest in this case,” he said.
Justin Stephens is facing charges from an unrelated incident of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and injury to personal property.
All three of the accused are being held in the Robeson County jail without bond. It was unclear if Justin Anthony Stephens and Joshua Montraze Stephens are related.
Lumberton and Fayetteville police assisted with the investigation, which is continuing.
