PEMBROKE — The fifth annual Entrepreneurship Summit at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke will be held April 4.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Regional Center at COMtech.

The summit, “Entrepreneurship and the Law: Practical Considerations,” will have special guest speakers Timothy L. McNeill and Beau Lafayette Epperly to speak about the field of entrepreneurship and the law.

PEMBROKE — Steve Nash has been hired to serve as the vice president and director of operations for Metcon’s Raleigh office. Metcon is a general contracting business that was established in 1999 in Pembroke.

According to a statement from Metcon, Nash, a graduate from the University of North Carolina, has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, including working with John S. Clark Co., McDevitt & Street and Fluor-Daniels.

According to Metcon, it has completed more than 650 construction contracts, including much of the construction at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke during the past decade. In 2011 it was recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce as the 2011 National Minority Contractor of the Year.
