Clara Kirksey
LUMBERTON – The Rev. Clara Patrick Kirksey, 99, of Lumberton, died Jan. 31, 2013, at Southeastern Hospice House.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Saddletree Church of God, Bishop Kenneth Locklear and the Rev. Donald Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in Oxendine Cemetery on Rennert Road.
She attended Saddletree Church of God where she was the oldest living member and a faithful servant for a number of years. She also worked as a minister for the Eastern North Carolina Church of God.
Kirksey was born in Columbus County on Aug. 20, 1913, the daughter of the late Joe C. Patrick and Mary Moore Patrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Earl Kirksey; two brothers, Joe Louis Patrick Jr. and William E. Patrick; and six sisters, Bertha Patrick, Addie Jacobs, Elsie Hunt, Adie Graham, Leta Jacobs and Viola Freeman.
She is survived by two daughters, Delores Wilburn, and Patricia Green and husband Jimmy Green, all of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Tricia Ann Dean and husband Dr. Curtis Dean; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Olivia and Daniel Dean, all of Greensboro; daughter, Odessa Hammonds and husband Bobby Ray Hammonds; and three granddaughters, Veronica Chavis, Tabatha Cummings and Vanessa Locklear, all of Lumberton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.
